Chronic disease
With a chronic disease such as celiac disease, the symptoms persist for a long time or for life. The daily change of symptoms of chronic diseases such as of celiac disease is minimal; usually an everyday life apart from the gluten-free diet can be continued.
A diagnosis of celiac disease is often difficult because chronic diseases are usually not primarily associated with acute symptoms. Especially adults do not perceive their illnesses or do not show symptoms (silent celiac disease), thus the important diet can only be started after a long time.
