Diet (Therapy)

The treatment of chronic celiac disease is not a medical treatment, but a lifelong strictly gluten-free diet. When deficiency symptoms occur a doctor should be consulted and an initial dose of vitamins and iron might be useful. When the diet will be followed consistently, usually within a few months all symptoms disappear and the risk of colorectal cancer is reduced.
